He was involved in something but MLB investigated it for 15 seconds. The league investigates sticky stuff and balls in humidors for months but investigates the transfer of millions of dollars to a bookie involed in illegal gambling and racketeering for 15 seconds so it doesn't tarnish their international star.

Yeah...I don't think the DOJ cares about "tarnishing" a baseball player. Apparently the DOJ investigated and found no evidence to warrant bringing charges. BTW...I must've missed it. When did MLB investigate baseballs in humidors?

If Ohtani passes Judge in home runs, possibly. Judge’s lead in nearly every major category and WAR gets him the honor.

Just saying they do study things like juiced balls and the type of mud but funneling millions to your best friend and clubhouse interpreter turned a blind eye.

He has produced an amazing season, Judge's season is better. Not if you think stealing bases is important - of which I am the very rare person who does. I also think batting average is better than OBP because walking is infinitely boring. A major reason I don't watch games, hitting for anything but home runs is a lost art especially on the Yankees. I can remember when hitting .290 by a player was not an amazing feat for this team. Stolen bases is important, but not more than rbi which Judge leads in. Not more than playing golden glove caliber defense, which Judge does and Ohtani doesn't play defense at all.

Seeing Ohtani's performance this season, I'm convinced now that if he would've played this full season exclusively as a DH, Aaron Judge might've hit 70+ home runs. It's so much easier to simply warm up a bench, than it is to have to run hard, make diving plays, and wear the body out over the course of 162 games, instead of swinging a bat, then sitting.

There is no evidence he actually bet on games. He did pay off, or his account was used to he denies knowing of it, gambling debts for a former friend. That is illegal in the US even if they are not your debts. But the DOJ let the case go. ...his account was used to he denies knowing of it... And no evidence to even suggest otherwise. Exactly, accusations and assumptions, aren't evidence.

If I pay off a friend’s gambling debts, how is that illegal? I doubt casinos and race tracks care whose accounts were accessed to fulfill a financial obligation.

It may raise suspicions, and that’s all they have on Ohtani at this point, likely all there was and therefore likely all they’d get if they chased him down for years and wasted time and money doing so…
