Why should anyone care what the writers want ? If they know so much they should have saved the newspapers. Don't know what writers want, but there must be parity for the league to prosper. And newspapers will eventually go the way of the milkman. Not as long as people have pets it won't. |

the options to rodon for game 1 are either schmidt or gil. cole will get game 2.
gil is easy. probably gonna slot him at game 4. since coming back from his "injury", has had a 4.38 ERA including 2 really bad starts. and as good as he's been when he's been good, does have control issues and coupled with his inexperience, think they'll hide him as much as they can. so he gets one start in the 7 game series.
you can make the case for schmidt over rodon but rodon does have "better stuff". also given the indians are very LH'ed (even though their splits say otherwise), maybe you go w the LH'er. other than a 3 game stretch end of june, he usually comes back better in his next start so have to hope for that here.
haven't heard anything about cortes. they had been talking about a return for the alcs. if so, he's in the pen.
