Hey, we're back! I think the realization that the Yankees are back in the World Series knocked this board out last night! I can remember every Yankee World Series since 1957, and never has one felt more unreal than this one. I guess because of the long drought -- 15 teams have played in the World Series since the Yanks were last in it -- and getting accustomed to flaming out in the post-season. Anyway this is much more fun. Twelfth time it's been Yankees-Dodgers -- amazingly the previous eleven took place in a 41-season span from 1941-1981. The second-most World Series match-ups is Yankees-Giants, seven times (but none since 1962.)

dodgers are gonna be tough. their offense scares me. our pitching is gonna have to really step up. shohei & betts may not be soto & judge, but they have so many more weapons than we do. one the chink in their armor may be starting pitching. let the games begin.

In my opinion, I think the Yankees will be the underdogs in this World Series. The question is, will these Yankees have enough fire power to overcome the favorite Dodgers, like the 1996 Yankees had over the Braves in 6, or not enough to match them, the way the 1976 Yankees fell to the Big Red Machine losing 4 straight. I feel that for the Yankees to win this series, they have to win the first 2 games in Los Angeles. I know that's a tall order, but if they only split the first two, then I have a feeling the Dodgers may take 2 out of 3 at Yankee Stadium, and there's no way the Yankees would win the last two in L.A. I know it doesn't work this way...but the Mets went 4-0 against the Yankees this season, and the Dodgers went 2-1 against the Yankees...and we just saw what the Dodgers did to the Mets...all that being said, this is not the same Yankees team as when they met in the summer, but then again it's also not the same Dodgers team. It should be a very interesting series...My prediction...Yankees in 6.

Wonder if we make any roster changes? If Cortez is ready he could replace Stroman. There was some talk of adding Beeter instead of Leiter. It would be a gutsy move to replace Holmes with Beeter, don't see it happening but it wouldn't be the craziest idea I've ever heard.

Want to realize just how long it's been since the Yankees won a World Series? Here's 8 year old Anthony Volpe at the Yankees' last World Series parade in 2009. He looks exactly the same!

Agree, my pondering was about Beeter for Holmes.

We are going to need Holmes to perform to win the series. Couldn’t have gotten there without him. I cannot see Boone adding a minor leaguer over Stroman.

I think Holmes stays but I've really got to the point I just don't trust him at all. With the new rule that a pitcher has to face 3 hitters it really makes things worse. When a batter reaches base off him he seems to unravel and what was once a strength of keeping the ball in the yard is no longer the case. When he's good, he's usually really good but when he's bad it's painful. There is little room for error in the WS, I guess it would be an easier choice if we had more options. Right now journeymen pitchers are getting it done for us but the BP still scares the crap out of me. Maybe some of these overachievers can keep it going for 7 more games.

I was excited to go to my first ever WS game ... then I looked at ticket prices. It stinks when the average fan gets priced out.

Do you need a small bank loan to cover the ticket? I saw some ticket prices that cost more than some brand new 85 inch flat TV screens.

The seats we sat in for the ALCS are going for a cool $5,700 bucks with fees each for the World Series. Ridiculous.

when holmes is good, he's very good. unfortunately that's not always the case. think boone has to put him in lower leverage situations if possible. if nestor is here, perhaps he leapfrogs holmes on the level of trust.
