Wonder if we make any roster changes? If Cortez is ready he could replace Stroman. There was some talk of adding Beeter instead of Leiter. It would be a gutsy move to replace Holmes with Beeter, don't see it happening but it wouldn't be the craziest idea I've ever heard. cortez for stroman would be a huge positive. think leiter is safe after this week. and just don't see them bringing up a rookie in this situation with 3.2 big league innings under his belt especially since he does have control issues.
when holmes is good, he's very good. unfortunately that's not always the case. think boone has to put him in lower leverage situations if possible. if nestor is here, perhaps he leapfrogs holmes on the level of trust.
Just my 2 cents, but I rather see the Cortes on the Yankees roster than Mayza.

I was excited to go to my first ever WS game ... then I looked at ticket prices. It stinks when the average fan gets priced out.
These are tix for the '95 NLCS...Field Level / 10 Rows up / about 20' beyond 3B. Note the price - $40. Of course, the Rockies got knocked out by the Braves in the NLDS, so these games were never played.

I can see Boone adding Nestor. We are going to need Holmes to perform to win the series. Couldn’t have gotten there without him. I cannot see Boone adding a minor leaguer over Stroman. I think Holmes stays but I've really got to the point I just don't trust him at all. With the new rule that a pitcher has to face 3 hitters it really makes things worse. When a batter reaches base off him he seems to unravel and what was once a strength of keeping the ball in the yard is no longer the case. When he's good, he's usually really good but when he's bad it's painful. There is little room for error in the WS, I guess it would be an easier choice if we had more options. Right now journeymen pitchers are getting it done for us but the BP still scares the crap out of me. Maybe some of these overachievers can keep it going for 7 more games. Well said.

The seats we sat in for the ALCS are going for a cool $5,700 bucks with fees each for the World Series. Ridiculous. In my opinion, with prices like that there's no excuse not to re-sign Soto and Torres. Do teams in the playoffs have to share ticket revenue with anyone besides the team they are playing?

I wonder what they are charging for parking?

Prices vary of course, but usually around $150-$200. regular season. Still a lot cheaper than YS.

Holmes has been great for a middle inning hold. He just can not be given the ball 2 outs in the 8th or later.
I don't want Stroman or Cortes pitching but which ever one Boone has more trust in make that one active.
Just need to hope the hot bats stay hot and the dead bats wake up.
Wish the Yankees had Home Field but take game 1 and keep rolling.

I'll be listening for the role call, just curious whether it will have the same feel in the bleacher section...it may not mean much, but lack of real Yankee fans (rather than the "suits" who can afford to get in) could make a difference in these 3 games!

cortez for stroman would be a huge positive. think leiter is safe after this week. and just don't see them bringing up a rookie in this situation with 3.2 big league innings under his belt especially since he does have control issues.

Just my 2 cents, but I rather see the Cortes on the Yankees roster than Mayza. They could use more than two left-handers, though, especially with the Dodgers.

Holmes may have survived had Rizzo fielded the ball at first base; however, I prefer Holmes entering the game with no one on base, or if you have to bring him in with runners on, with at least two outs. I agree that he is better suited right now to the middle innings. I cannot fathom why he (or Blake) doesn't vary his pitch locations as a matter of course. Too often he continues to repeatedly throw the two-seamer when it is finishing low and out of the zone. Using a fastball at the top of the zone to change the hitter's eye level would assist him to return to the sinker even if the pitch finishes off the plate. I do not mind the back door slider following the two-seamer. Essentially, sequencing could really help him. He is not Mariano Rivera, able to control the cutter up-down, and in-and-out. Holmes needs to vary locations with different pitches. Get ahead with the two-seamer and/or finish with the two-seamer. Using that sinker the way Kahnle uses the change-up is not working for Holmes, unless his arm slot is perfect. At 6'5" and as much as his pitches move, Holmes will continue to be inconsistent, unless he mixes his sequencing of pitches to provide for changes in location.

I've gotten to the point where, at field level, I prefer the end of the last row in the section...closer to restrooms & concessions. Which end depends on where HP won't be blocked by the inconsiderate a-hos who constantly walk up & down the aisle during play. In fact, in most parks now our go-to is Level 2, 1st row. Great view and no traffic walking in front or up & down aisles blocking view.
