If Cole doesn't take the ball tomorrow, I hope he opts out. Even if he does, I hope he opts out...maybe management will have the incentive to finally create a championship team from within, instead of blowing all their money on 1 top player each year. Who besides Judge do the Yankees have, who can be considered championship material, should Cole opt out, and if they don't sign Soto? Man, that's scary. For the Yankees to create a championship from within, they would have to have two or three 90-100 loss seasons while Judge is 2-3 years older.

If Cole doesn't take the ball tomorrow, I hope he opts out. They won't let Cole throw 100 pitches so he's not pitching on three days rest. In my opinion... At best, Cole pitches game 5, and maybe, just maybe, with the day off he gives the Yankees an inning in game 6 or more likely game 7.

Max, I think it has to be a balanced approach using internal prospects, smart trades and FA signings. WTS, even where they are drafting and partly because of their aggressive approach with International FAs, they have to do a better job developing young players.

I think coco is saying the deflation from game 1 led to the other 2 losses and I can see that for game 2 but game 3 had an off day and location change there's no deflation effecting that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I guess I'll push back a little. Each game is different and good players overcome adversity and while it was a tough loss it was still only game 1 of a potential seven game series. IF our team goes into a multi game funk because of a tough loss then we have even bigger problems than I thought. Maybe the Dodgers are just making the plays and we ain't. Agreed. As I mentioned in another thread during one of the AL playoff series. Losing 1 game has nothing to do with another game. There has been examples of that as recently as this postseason.

Good question but the fact that he seems to lose his plate discipline seems to me a bigger issue and not one related to fatigue. Yes, but he is missing some very hittable pitches. Bad mechanics and his timing is off. Some of his swings and misses reminds me of the swings Ralph Kramden took in his kitchen when Ed Norton was trying to teach how to play golf.

Yes, but he is missing some very hittable pitches. Agree, it may play a factor. There has been some discussion that Wells is slumping because he's played so much more than in other seasons. At one point fairly late in the season Wells was hitting .260 and was someone who seemed to put the ball in play alot. Wells is starting to worry me. I am still hurting from watching Gary Sanchez go from hiting home runs like Johnny Bench to getting seated on the bench. Wells might need to make some adjustments.

They’ve both had such high highs and low lows. Somewhere in between ate the actual players. I still think Volpe should be a 2B, gold glove or not. But this is what you get when you promote from within, especially when they’re as young as Volpe. It takes time…
