Seems more and more teams are thinking of getting a HR from the first batter to get an instant lead...It's not a new concept, as it's been done before with Bobby Bonds, Rick Monday, etc...and Davis does draw a fair number of walks. I believe this is more about Baltimore having no legitimate lead off hitter, as the entire team is swing-happy. I had a pop in my bat, but I was also fast enough to play CF, so I would bat leadoff whenever I would find a manager or a pick up team that would let me. Most of them wanted me in a typical power slot from 3rd to 7th somewhere. It depended on who else was playing and how well they knew my hitting...

I'm not one bit fluent in Japanese mind you, but I could have sworn I heard the words sonofabitch when the ball went over the wall and bastard when the final shot was shown in the dugout...Oh, I know I didn't but if you listen you'll hear what I heard...My apologies to our Japanese friends...Come to think of it, I've only known one Japanese person in my life. She was the girl friend of a co-worker...had a very strange-looking ass, that one did...I never saw the actual ass, mind you...but the pants sure didn't fit like most girls pants did back there...

This particular series of conversation has reminded me. I've noticed that since the "problems" with Scout began, the sense of humor has almost been abandoned there. It was always frowned upon my many on the paid side, but the free side is so inactive as to leave a void of a place that seems worthwhile visiting. The paid side is still good, mind you, but the free side has all the appeal of Chernobyl after the meltdown...I wonder if it could ever really be revived???

It was always frowned upon my many on the paid side, but the free side is so inactive as to leave a void of a place that seems worthwhile visiting. The paid side is still good, mind you, but the free side has all the appeal of Chernobyl after the meltdown...I wonder if it could ever really be revived??? I wish jwild and maize and a few others from there would join us here. I guess they feel a certain loyalty to that site. But what's the point when so many users can't post there? |

The D & G club has been diluted with the talent this team has. They've had to find other things to bitch about. I would imagine they're all over Trump...I have a hard time understanding why our country can't support our President. In saying that, I have no particular allegiance to Trump. It doesn't matter who wins that office. The press tries to find out every place they've had their pee-pee in since third grade, if they cheated on a test in kindergarten, if they nursed a few weeks longer than most babies...

He's (Maize) been posting on Scout.Com. Yes, he's getting married in, or got married already in Brazil, I forget if the knot was officially tied or not at this point. I'm kind of embarrassed that I can't remember. Maize was very kind to me when I was a newbie, and was certainly mature beyond his years at that point...I had no idea he was only a kid until I had been posting for months! Now, he's all grown up and ... time flies...
