Remember when the Mets were supposed to have like 3 aces on their staff? Syndergaard and deGrom are still really good when the Mets can keep them on the field. The old school, real baseball National League with their pitchers hitting took care of deGroom. |

I always loved Harvey as a pitcher. First saw him when he pitched for UNC and just thought he had all the makings of a great pitcher (big build, solid mecchanics threw hard, good secondary stuff, bulldog mentality). Alotta folks dont like his personality but he could have had a hell of a career if the shoulder never gave out. I wonder where he will land.

Yep, Harvey had the goods all right. It is a shame. Even if his personality stunk...Ty Cobb. Albert Belle. Denny McClain. Lenny Dykstra. They entertained as players, but failed as human beings. We all fail as human beings from time to time. Usually we're lucky the rest of the world doesn't find out because we don't have high profile lives...
