Interesting, the Miami Marlins are 14-26 through their first 40 games this season. In 2017, after the first 40 games, their record was 14-26.

I always loved Harvey as a pitcher. First saw him when he pitched for UNC and just thought he had all the makings of a great pitcher (big build, solid mecchanics threw hard, good secondary stuff, bulldog mentality). Alotta folks dont like his personality but he could have had a hell of a career if the shoulder never gave out. I wonder where he will land. I think the real problem for him was Thoracic Outlet Syndrome wasn't it? Seems like almost everyone who has had surgery for that has had almost no career afterward.

Not really "around the majors" I guess, but I just watched that brawl from 95 when Armando Benitez beaned Tino in the back. One of the wildest brawls I can remember. Maybe the bench clearing brawls were crazier back then because everyone was on the juice and roid raging. Strawberry came within inches of landing a hay maker on Benitez that probably would have done some serious damage.

It happened in 1998 though not 1995. Here it is on youtube:

The nine games that Benitez spent with the Yankees in 2003 were nine too many...

Good catch, and yeah it's just pure mayhem the entire time haha. I love the guys charging out of the pen. Graham Lloyd was flailing like a mad man.

Does any one know how Mateo is doing with the Oakland A's? I know he is in their farm system...but I cannot find out how he is doing (I guess I am a Computer Dummy = I get a Tech. Headache & Mega Diarrhea every time Windows does an update...go figure).

Headache & Mega Diarrhea every time Windows does an update...go figure). He is hitting a meager .204/.243/.331 with 8 steals with the Triple A Nashville Sounds. On the bright side, he's hitting better as of late with a .278/.300/.556 line in the last 7 days. Here's an article blurb on how he hit his only 2 HRs in one game on May 4th:

Also, Mateo is nothing.

Yeah, Mateo had struggled but Dustin Fowler made back to the big leagues and hit his first MLB HR last night.

Yeah, Mateo had struggled but Dustin Fowler made back to the big leagues and hit his first MLB HR last night. So glad we have Didi and Torres instead of Mateo. Really thought he was a sure thing. Then the Yankees suspended him for attitude issues and it went down hill from there. When Sanchez got disciplined for his attitude issues he picked it up and improved his game and attitude. Mateo seems like he sucked and sank..

Mateo was a huge disappoint to me. I had visions of a Young Tim Raines/prime Rickey Henderson...instead, he appears to be a poor man’s Billy Hamilton with occasional power flashes...
I dreamed of him leading off for the Yankees for a decade...

Orioles 'slugger' Chris Davis is having a mind-bogglingly bad seasonMeanwhile, our old friend Diane Firstman pointed this out: Davis had entered his at-bats with 109 runners on base ... and driven in 11 of them. Things haven't turned around over the past two days. He went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts on Wednesday and 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Blue Jays. He's still at nine runs scored in 55 games and is hitting .152/.232/.232. His OPS is barely better than Mike Trout's on-base percentage. www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/23729870/real-not-chris-davis-worst-season-all
