Actually inger time and space are changing as the black hole we live in expands...that is why the speeds have appeared to change.

GM touts Mets as NL East favorites
"Internally, we would argue that we're the favorites in the division right now," Van Wagenen told the team's SNY network.

If there was ever any truth to the Realmuto rumors, the move to sign Ramos and keep Syndergaard and/or other pieces of that ratation was a far better move...

Do we have any minor league pitchers which might one day in some alternate universe be stars... We have several, Noetsi. Most are buried deep in the low minors right now, but a couple may be fast movers that will in the everyday conversation within a couple of years. We also still have Loaisiga, who may wind up being a starter, but has also shown signs he could become a nice power reliever. If you want to see a home grown starting pitching talent you’ll have to be patient for a couple of years to see how it all turns out, but we have some toolsy young men that could certainly be ready to fill the voids left by CC, Happ, & Co... As you know, in Yankeeland there’re only going to get a chance if there is a void in the rotation and they perform immediately like a five year veteran...so it’s always going to be tough...

Personally I think there has been a void in the rotation for several years. And that this won't be getting better any time soon. Thus my question.

I'd have to agree, Chi...Given the fragility of CC's knee and the track records of Tanaka and Paxton, it would be highly unexpected if we don't have need for a sixth starter at some point in the season. The team may make another move, or wind up retaining Gray as a swing man... If not, even a short-term injury will allow some lucky kid a shot at a few starts here and there...

One positive, Loaisiga, German, and Chance Adams all have some experience now starting games in the big leagues. if Cessa is around, that's another stop-gap arm that's taken on that role previously. That's very good depth if and when injuries occur to starters during the course of the season.

Health is always a key, but Severino, Happ, Tanaka, Paxton and Sabathia is a very good rotation, one of the best in the league. Couldn’t agree more. These five starters had a collective 3.63 ERA and 3.64 FIP in 2018. These both would have been 3rd best in the AL last year.
