Hmmm...this thread has been inactive for four days, so I'll throw something in here.. If you haven't checked out the interference DP call that ended last night's O's-White Sox game as an 8-6 O's win, you might want to. It seems inexplicable ot me. That call is on the short list of the worst and most confusing decisions in umpiring history. The league has already admitted it was wrong. Yeah, but the WSox still lose the game.  |

I have no idea, martian. In addition, the infield fly rule was called, Benintendi was out regardless of whether Henderson caught the ball or not. Further, interference is a judgment call. 6.01(a) says the runner CAN be called out, not should be, or shall be, or must be. Henderson didn't even have a play to any of the bases on the runners, because by the time he caught the high pop, both runners were back on their bases. Bleacher Report is reporting that the league has told the White Sox that they got the call wrong. I thought so. Thanks for the the confirmation, 55. |
