MLB to add Negro League stats starting tomorrow to their all-time stats. Josh Gibson will now lead MLB in multiple career stats. Numerous MLB players will now fall in the ranks. BR has already done this. The rate stats have changed dramatically. I’m not a fan of this move because the stats are so incomplete, but… sigh…

I can't fairly judge this because I don't know if the competition in the Negro League was worse, equal, or better than the competition in MLB.

I can't fairly judge this because I don't know if the competition in the Negro League was worse, equal, or better than the competition in MLB. It’s about numbers Max. Babe Ruth and contemporaries face light judgement because they only played against 85% of the population. The people in the negro leagues only played against 15% of the population. Records are incomplete. And the number of at bats is significantly less on rate stats due to fewer games played, which is a HUGE factor on rate stats… I believe the level of competition and length of seasons woukd have equaled things out a lot…

Where are these “a lot worse umpires out there”?

Where are these “a lot worse umpires out there”? A left handed compliment or a right handed insult? I think Boone is right as far as the basic impinge, but Angel had a special skill for arguing that he was right despite replays, challenges, etc.. He had a quick trigger and was in apparent joy at his evictions. A bully…

No ones talking about Jorge Lopez? I just watched the highlights of throwing the glove in the stands and saying he plays for the worst F****** team in MLB.
YUP Soto is leaving to go across town

Ex-Yankee farmhand Jamie Westbrook gets his first major league hit after 11 years in the minors. He toiled at Scranton in 2023.

BR has already done this. The rate stats have changed dramatically. I’m not a fan of this move because the stats are so incomplete, but… sigh… It's questionable if the records were even kept accurately. I don't think the white players were competing against 85 percent of the population. I think you would find few hispanics in major league teams of that era (although I am sure there were some). And of course males make up less than 50 percent of the population anyway

Skenes blows away Ohtani in their first ever matchup.
Edit: Ohtani just got revenge in their second matchup by hitting a two run HR to dead center off one of Skene's fastballs.
