He fanned 4 walked 2 and left without a decision after throwing 98 pitches… The White Sox are a ‘62 Mets-like 17-51… Anytime a team looks like it has a legitimate shot to challenge that 62 Mets record -- like 2003 Tigers or the 2023 Athletics -- it gets my attention. At 17-51, the White Sox are playing at the identical .250 winning percentage of that Mets team, which finished 40-120. Two games were lost to rainouts. After 68 games, the 1962 Mets were 19-49. The 2003 Tigers won five of their last six games to finish with 119 losses and avoid by one game tying the Mets futility record. |
