Ugh. Mets live to see another day. Was really hoping they'd lose both games just for the laughs. Ah well. Lindor came through for the Mets again. He probably would have had a good chance to win the NL MVP if Ohtani didn't have such a great season.

A great defensive SS that can hit like Lindor is more valuable than a DH.

Was really hoping they'd lose both games just for the laughs. Ah well. I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I've never understood the hatred of the Mets. I suppose I don't hear the trash talk between the fans, but even when I lived in NY I'd pull for them unless, of course, it had a negative effect for the Yanks. I thought '69 was great, and the '86 WS even better. I watched Game 6 in a sports bar named..."Fenway Park". I get a chuckle because it seems like every time the Mets have a good team someone makes the claim that the Mets own NYC.
Just my opinion, but the Yankees have too much of a successful history for such a claim to be made. History tells me that before the Mets franchise, the last 2 NL teams in NYC moved to California.

Dear Ken..If you believe that you did something really dumb...do not double down on it.

The future of local broadcast money for a dozen major league baseball teams is cloudy as Diamond Sports announced it was dropping about 1/3 of all major league teams for next season. The Yankees are not affected but lots of other teams, including playoff teams in Cleveland, Kansas City and Detroit, are. thedesk.net/2024/10/diamond-sports-major-league-basell-dropping-rights/

If these teams can't find a local broadcasting partner, MLB will have to take over their broadcasts, like they did with the Padres.

I know some or all of these RSNs were gobbled up by one company and then that outfit got purchased by Disney. I read that the FTC wanted Disney (ESPB) to divest itself of the RSNs. While all that took place streaming became more popular and then industry got transformed. MLB would love to operate a streaming service for all MLB teams. The Yankees would be big losers if that happened.

I don't know all the details but Diamond Sports was a subsidiary of Sinclair, who had arrangements and dealings with Bally casinos and sports gambling. Things got ugly and then they got worse and Diamond's relationship with Sinclair went bad, Diamond Sports declared bankruptcy and they stopped paying the teams that they were broadcasting. Just a complete mess and MLB has had to get involved and take over the production and broadcasting of some of Diamond's teams.

they really need to do one integrated tv contract like the NFL even though this would hurt the yankees a lot.
