Am I the only one who wants neither Harper or Machado? I used to be all for Harper.. but I don't see a need for him with our outfield... and Machado I never wanted. He seems like a contract that will stink fast... kinda like Pooholes.. err Pujols..

Don't get me wrong... Harper would be our best OF'er... (Yes, even better than Judge) and I think even on a ten year deal, you'll be getting a great player most of those 10 years (unless injury, which can be said of any player/contract) I just can't see paying 30-40 million for ONE player... even if that player is one of the top 3 players in all of MLB..

UGH... after typing that and thinking about it , I want Harper on the Yankees so bad... still, can't see justifying that kinda money for one player... even if it's generational talent and just costs money (not a trade)

i would rather wait a year and see where our team is holding and then consider what upgrades we should make.

I just got an alert on my phone saying Stanton has the Yankees as one of about five teams he'll accept a trade to. It's a long shot but Stanton and judge in same lineup should be killer

It doesnt seem like Stanton makes sense for the Yankees. Well I should say, adding a player like Stanton always "makes sense" but they would be on the hook for big money and also have to give up noteworthy prospects. Why not just go hard for Harper then...who is younger and probably a better fit (LHB in Yankee Stadium + more flexibility defensively).

Tequila & I have recently been having fierce debates about trading for Stanton...one can only imagine the debate and language. It hasn't been pretty.
Tequila wants us to trade for Stanton & I don't.
Here is my case for NOT: 1. Another ten-year contract & huge $$$ (haven't WE learned our lessons yet in regards to these types of contracts???). 2. Will he be Ellsbury II ?? 3. The cost could be way too high. What if the Marlins demanded some of our top Prospects like Gleyber Torres, Justus Sheffield, Estevan Florial or Clint Frazier, etc. etc. etc. 4. Finally he is injury prone: From 2012 thru 2016 he only averaged 115 games a season because of injuries 5. I rest my case
Tequila now present your case:

Harper and Stanton both concern me due to their injury histories. Harper averages a shade under 130 games per season, and Stanton even less. When they aren't playing, they're not worth a nickel, with a replacement player on the field in their stead. I'd rather use our talented youth and money to grab some front line starting pitching...
