Does anyone run harder to first base than Aaron Hicks? Some may be faster, but Hicks puts every single muscle twitch available to use. I wouldn’t have been upset if the Yankees had moved him over the winter as a “sell high” opportunity, but he’s really grown on me... The Yanks would need a new CF if they moved Hicks, since I don't think Gardner should be brought back.[/quote I was talking about last winter. I know I didn’t make that clear. I’d like a new CF/LF over the winter, with Gardner moving to 4th OF. I like Hicks throwing arm from CF. While there are certainly more rangy and showy CFs than Hicks, I feel he can either play there for a couple more seasons or move to a corner (LF being the preferred one because we have Judge in RF), or we can get a corner of with CF. Capability to replace Gardner’s starting role. Would the Yanks bring Gardner back without a full time position? Would he come back under those terms? Perhaps doubtful, but I can dream, right??? |
