Stanton with an RBI double, hopefully another sign he's getting hot.

Nice work by German pitching out of 1st & 3rd with no outs, showing that he certainly had the stuff and talent to be a major league starter pitcher.

Tarply gets two outs with runners on second and third. Big time pass for Tarply in his audition to be on the post season roster as a lefty specialist. He even had to pitch around another defensive mistake by a Yankee infielder, this one by Bird.

Whatever happened to "that strike three pitch was too close to take"? Too many strike outs on marginal strikes.

Whatever happened to "that strike three pitch was too close to take"? Too many strike outs on marginal strikes. We see this all the time in today's game. Can't believe that a run producer, like Stanton would take strike three with two runners in scoring position.

Is there anything more worthless than the in-game interview? What's the point?

Bird almost gives the Yanks the HR record to themselves. Settles for an RBI double - pretty swing from Bird.

Is there anything more worthless than the in-game interview? What's the point? In these cases where the announcer is also pushing the player for MVP it becomes more of a promotional event than an interview. Is Betts really that much more deserving than his team mate JD Martinez? Somehow, while telling us how blessed and fortunate he is to be in this position he fails to give mention to his team mate much less anyone else in the league who may be deserving, I think he intended to sound humble, but that flopped rather miserably...

And Torres gives the Yanks the record! Two of them actually.
