Back to the pitching staff, since I’m still up with the dog...we’ve all forgotten about Parker Bridwell on our depth charts. In 2017 he did very well for the Angels, though he doesn’t miss many bats. He fanned less than 6 per nine that year when at his best. I’m not sure what he does to get outs, but it’s not swing and miss stuff...2028 was an injury disaster for him...

Gosh, I hope its nothing serious, inger. Dogs are family members. At least ours is, and it sounds like yours is too. Thanks, chuck. This is really strange. One moment she was fine, and the next she was yelping in pain over and over...We went to the emergency vet care, and they were really nice with us and her. I chose to have them run blood work and they found evidence of an over-active immune system that is common with cancer. She does have some fatty tumors on her body that she's had for a couple of years, but they're almost always benign. We're waiting for a call back from the vet to see if her white cell count is high. If it is, then cancer becomes very likely. If the best happens, we'll find out that she pulled a muscle in her neck/shoulder area and the pain meds will get the inflammation down and she'll be fine. Our luck recently hasn't been the best...Right now, she's sitting still for the first time in hours. I took her collar off and have been massaging her neck and shoulders... We both recently went to the dentist and we ran up about 4 grand in dental bills, and then Ruthie turned around and broke another tooth...It's been crazy stuff... I think this is all test, as I recently decided to make sure I stay in the moment of life and live one day at a time... INGER: Have your Vet test her for Tick Diseases--the test is called SNAP. I have lost three dogs to Ticks.
Brooklyn my favorite Akita after another Akita, Payday died (from old-age --nearly 17-years old); Brooklyn too was fine (happy, playful, etc.). Than one morning she was dragging herself (no excitement, no nothing) and it looked like he was in pain.
So we rushed him to the Vet; did the Snap Test and sure enough he had a few Tick Diseases. No, we do not know he got a Tick(s) bite nor when.
We spray the entire compound twice a month with a spray that kills ticks & all of dogs get regular anti-tick pills.
Plus, they are brushed twice a day and every other day they are brushed with a mix of Apple Vinegar prevent Fleas/Ticks. Brooklyn was put on a high dosage of antibiotics but died within a week.
One of my other Akitas (Bronx) got hit by Ticks too. However we caught it early and saved him for now, But the Tick disease caused him to go blind. He is the Brother of Brooklyn.
Sorry to hear this. I wish only the best for her; for I know what you are going thru. Give her a big hug for me. Tequila, says likewise.

Sensible deal for both sides. Cash has made two very smart moves to shore up the rotation this offseason.

Then there’s that..,what’s his name... Koochicoochiecoo from Japan?... Some sources say he may be a better pitcher than any other ever out of Japan. Other sources say great curveball and nothing else... -------------------- Inger, its Kikuchi.. Very simple. You need racial tolerance training: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxKXLqlxCfcYeah. I know. This is America, the land of free speech. Until you say anything that anybody else doesn’t like...I think everyone knows where I stand on that... Good clip. I’ve never seen that movie... But in this case, I was just too lazy to look the name up. Brandy had to go see the emergency vet tonight. She’s in pretty bad pain and we’re back home with pain meds that she doesn’t want to take and no real answers as to what’s going on. The pain seems to be in one of her shoulders. It’s got me and Ruth both down, not to mention Brandy. There’s even a possibility she could have cancer...Six years old and 155 very loving pounds of beautiful dog... Good luck Inger.

We had to put down our Goldendoodle, Dory because of throat cancer. She was only 4 years old, it was horrible.

Would have loved to make a big ace splash (not sure that was out there for an appropriate price though) but I am happy with these rotation moves

Thanks for the well wishes for Brandy. She’s not in as much discomfort this morning. Still hoping this was a bad muscle cramp or something to that effect.
She’s still not completely better, but we’re a bit more cautiously hopeful. At first I was also alarmed to find out that she’s lost 13 pounds, down to 142. Then I realized we changed to a healthier dog food about 3 months ago, so maybe that’s the reason.
She wagged her tail when I spoke to her and ate a bit of food. I heard her drinking water in the mid-morning at some point (you can’t miss is, she drinks loudly)...and she drank a LOT...
Blood tests are not conclusive, but not as bad as the vet feared. After we lost our Great Pyrenees (Frostbite) earlier this year, this would be heart rending for certain...

Aces are like Jello...There’s always room... Dang, that’s an OLD ad slogan. I wonder how many will know what I’m talking about. One of the hazards of a long life can be a long memory that makes you feel irrelevant...

I lost my first mastiff to cancer of the femur at 3 1/2. Brandy is 6 now. Headed for the golden years for her breed...I ache for your loss even now...

We all love the Yankees but we love our animals more. Hope all turns out well. Anyway i don't feel good going into the season counting on CC. Hopefully there is help somewhere in the minors because I believe we will need it.
