I love Estrada, but what will he do?...I’d move him if it gets us a great young arm... It will probably cost you Estrada and Frazier for a quality starter. I was thinking those two plus a B+ starting pitching prospect at AA or maybe a lottery ticket type big arm from Rookie League or A ball... The Tigers and Indians need bats badly...The Indians need outfielders, the Tigers need everything... Washington is liable to dump the whole team... A lot of teams are going to demand Florial, perhaps in place of Estrada...

I liked the little nugget at the end about Gio Gonzalez. While he’s 2-1; 3.19 with Milwaukee in 6 starts (total 31 innings), he’s also currently on the DL with a dead arm...
I guess he could have been a decent boost for a few weeks in NY, but now he’d just be another piece on the IL, and we’d still be starter shopping...

All of us here tend to be a bit cocky about the quality of play in the AL, but the NL is leading in Interleague head to head play now. I think the big reason pitchers tend to struggle in the AL is that there are more high-scoring ball parks... But, yes. His numbers may have been different...

A big part of that is that NL pitchers see ~5500 PAs per year and hit .125 with a .325 OPS while AL pitchers have to face a DH over 11k times who are many multiples more productive.

If we had kept him he would have taken German’s starts. I see no chance he would have outpitched what German did so far this year, even if German was a bit lucky to some degree.

Damn too bad...surely Cash is on the phones for trades now Hope so. There are some fire sales on the brew... I’d guess we have a couple of infielders, at least one outfielder with MLB experience available...a couple MiLB 1B-OF could be add on pieces, a couple of MiLB starters and 3-4 MiLB relievers that could all draw interest in various packages, as well as German...Romine May also interest some teams with the state of offense at the position right now. He could start for a few teams... Deal from strength to correct weaknesses...

I was thinking he would have taken the Green opener BS spot, GF... Eventually perhaps but they had to make the roster decision before that which would have meant German wouldn’t have broken camp.

I think cashman is too afraid of trading prospects for legitimate talent.
