All we need to do is go 3-5 in the next 8 games against the RS and they division is finished. What planet did you actually come from?... Pluto. The math is pretty basic. If we go 3-5 against boston we would be 69-40. If we went 27-26 the rest of the season we would end up 96-66 (obviously we won't play that poorly we are doing worse case). Boston would be 61-50. To tie us they would then need to go 35-16 (.686) the rest of the season.
We aren't going to be 27-26 or worse. Boston is not going to be 35-16 or better (no team is and especially Boston who is .544 to date). If we go 3-5 the division is over. Its basic probability

The return of Higie.... seriously given how Sanchez performed the last month anyone who replaces him will probably bat better.

Not a shock, but Troy Tulowitzki announced his retirement at age 34. He made a point of thanking Brian Cashman for what he called "making my dream come true" and getting a chance, albeit briefly, to wear the pinstripes.
Only 13 PA's for the Yankees, but he did manage a home run. Sorry he didn't get a real shot at playing, but it was always a low-risk roll of the dice.
A class act who was outstanding in his prime.

His fall from elite status was amazingly fast to me.

The Yankees opening day IF was Greg Bird, Gleyber Torres, Troy Tulowitzki and Miguel Andujar. Seems like a long long time ago.

I must have this wrong? By replacing Gardner with Tarpley on the roster, the Yankees have only three OFers on the roster? And only two position players on the bench?

And only two position players on the bench? wow....I didn't realize that....I guess LeMahieu is the 4th outfielder in case of injury....The way the pitching staff was shredded in Minnesota, we still will not have too many pitchers available...we need to stay healthy...

LMH probably can play every OF position
I have not seen this but did Gardner go on the IL? If not he can play the OF in an emergency.
