I think 16 runs is the worse deficit ever against the Red Sox. Hopefully we won't get there tonight. 18-3 Who cares? When the Red Sox wake up tomorrow, they are still 10 games out. And 2-6 vs. the Yankees...

Who cares? When the Red Sox wake up tomorrow, they are still 10 games out. I made that point earlier. I still hate bad history to be made. It will matter if it influences the Yankee morale. Especially the starters. Did we forget Game 3 of the ALDS ?

I think that is the way to look at it.....it is a loss....actually easier in some regards than losing on a walk off hit in extra innings.... The RS might get shut out by the Yankee pitching tomorrow....part of what this game is....

a week for once in a lifetime events in Yankee baseball this week. Chi is right we are still 10 up and if my model is right all we need to do is win 1 of the next 3 in this series anyway. Amusing when I finally said something really positive no one agreed

Even without Tanaka’s first inning, we still lose 12-3...

As expected, Tarpley is already gone. is he going to be redheaded? I think that would make sense.

As great as the last two comebacks against the Twinkies were, you can't give up 7 in the first, keep your starter in and expect to win. Tanaka was crap tonight. Tomorrow's another day. But they have an issue with the rotation that has been obscured by the power of the offense. Unfortunately there are very few legitimate difference makers available. It may not prevent us from making the playoffs but it is an issue. I think if they can't land Stroman they might pass on the next level of starter and surprise us by adding a premium reliever and try to play a different game in the playoffs where starters aren't expected to go more than 4-5.This sounds a lot like what we have seen in the playoffs in the past couple of years. Managers have quick hooks in October and the pen gets worked hard. A lot depends on what they believe they will get in Severino also. If he comes back and can start like he's capable of he's better than anyone likely to be traded.
