Pipps, I watched the end of the Penn State-Minnesota game and was pulling for you. If the quarterback gets rid of the ball a little sooner, that interception may have been a touchdown to win the game. My niece received her PhD from Happy Valley and I was a Joe Paterno fan. Ugh, I'm a big PSU football fan, but I missed yesterday's game. Clifford had only 3 interceptions all season but threw 3 yesterday, you can't do that in big games. Still, they had a chance to win at the end. I thought you were a Nittany Lion fan, CHI! Minnesota is a really physical football team, but you are correct...turnovers were the difference. And, they still almost got it done. I don’t give the Gophers much of a chance against Ohio State. What do you think?

Unless Ohio St falls apart offensively and commits a bunch of turnovers, I don't see any way Minnesota can beat them. Michigan might give the Buckeyes a game and Penn St. still has to play them, but they are clearly a cut above anyone else in the Big Ten.

I’ll second that. Heard the win was much more dominant than the scoreboard reflected, too...(Didn’t see it, a neighbor told me). I wouldn't say that, since several times Bama made it a one score game, but they just couldn't get that one defensive stop when they needed it. Credit LSU, unlike their past teams, this current has an explosive offense that scores at will. To out up 46 points on Alabama is really impressive. I'd like to see a LSU/Ohio St. matchup, maybe in the NCAA title game? Agreed, I wouldn’t say the game was more one sided than the score showed. It was in doubt late in the 4th Q

There was a point where it looked like LSU might blow them out before Bama surged back. He might have nodded off by then and assumed the Bama points were garbage time but it was a really competitive game

Well, in fairness LSU did have a 20 point comeback before Bama came back. A huge moment in the game can at the end of the first half. LSU scored a TD with less than a minute to go in the half. On the next play from scrimmage, Alabama turned the ball over plus committed a real stupid and dirty late hit to give LSU 15 more yards and set up another TD for the Tigers. So, LSU scored two TD's in the the first half's final minute in a game that they won by 5 points.

I was thinking of you on this one Rizz. Although I am focusing on my Nittany Lions, I have been watching as much of LSU-Auburn as I can. Burrow certainly putting up some numbers. Pipps, I watched the end of the Penn State-Minnesota game and was pulling for you. If the quarterback gets rid of the ball a little sooner, that interception may have been a touchdown to win the game. My niece received her PhD from Happy Valley and I was a Joe Paterno fan. Thanks for the good thoughts Rizz. We had our annual family reunion on Saturday and I had to content myself with getting phone updates. I did get to see most of the second half of the LSU- Bama game and even though I would have been for LSU anyway, I rooted for them with a little more intensity because of your connection to them. Very impressive! Holy cow, Burrow sure looks like Heisman material to me. And that small running back dude, phew. The comparison to Darren Sproles looked legit to me. I can't see Minnesota challenging Ohio State. They are just crushing people. I still would not be surprised to see Alabama make it to the final four.

I wonder if a desperation factor for Harbaugh might light enough of a fire under Michigan to at least make that a competitive game with Ohio State. Penn State's loss to Minnesota was the mirror image of its win over Michigan. In each case, it came down to a last gasp pass from deep in the red zone. That was Minnesota's first win over a top five team since 1999. When they beat a number two Penn State. I am seeing that 2039 matchup as a potential trap game.

I remember that 1999 loss to Minnesota very well since it was a week before I got married. Penn st. was undefeated and huge favorite in that game, I also remember the Gophers completed a fluky 4th down pass on their game winning drive that was deflected by a PSU defender right into the hands of a Minnesota player that was laying on the ground. A week later, on my wedding day, Penn St. blew a 4th qtr lead to Michigan when some unknown QB named Tom Brady came off the bench to spark a Wolverine rally. I wonder what happened to that kid?

Yeah, Brady. Name is familiar. I think he was a late-round draft choice. He was no Elvis Grbac, that's for sure.

FSU is really struggling. The worse since I began to follow them in 78.
I think at 67 Saban is beginning to decline. Probably will not make the play offs. Still the greatest college coach ever.

LSU routs Ole Miss, but gives up over 400 rushing yards...that’s just rushing yards! So much for Tigers’ defense. Ugh. They really need some major adjustments in the next three weeks. Fortunately, they have only two home games remaining against Arkansas and Texas A&M.
Watched Georgia this weekend. That’s the best overall defense in the SEC. Florida and Auburn are up there, but Georgia’s eleven is the toughest I’ve seen this season.

Also there had to be a bit of a letdown after the Bama game. And now with Tua out, Bama is certainly a bit less of a threat. The two best teams I have seen this year are LSU and Ohio State. I know Georgia and Clemson are both tough. Right now that looks like the clear four best teams in college football.

Clemson has not really been challenged much this year. I would still bet on them to win the national title.
