So close to being a sweep. Russ, did this series teach you anything about the Yankees beating the Dodgers... small sample size. Come on Noetsi, if the Dodgers had beaten us you know you'd be beating the drum that we can't beat good pitching in the playoffs. |

Nope I said it was the combination of the two oakland series, the LA series, and the Cleveland series that would tell us that. We are 4-6 so far with 3 games to go. In particular how good the pitching is will be key IMHO although I know others disagree. |

Nope I said it was the combination of the two oakland series, the LA series, and the Cleveland series that would tell us that. We are 4-6 so far with 3 games to go. In particular how good the pitching is will be key IMHO although I know others disagree. I really can't put stock in that Oakland series. The Yankees just looked asleep most of that series and the cowbells horns etc didn't help things. |

The A's had just beaten Houston 3 of 4. I think it was because they were hot not that were asleep. Jet lag does not normally last 3 games.
Really the pitching was not bad. We could not get hits with men on base.
