I should get rid of some of my old clothes, etc…But I have all of those things, too… My wife "secretly" disposes of some of it in small doses. She thinks I don't notice...but I do. I wore a suit & tie 5 days a week for 35+ years. My "wardrobe" today consists of t-shirts & shorts. I keep the jeans & suits "just in case", but the days of a 30-32W are long gone. At least all of my stuff still fits. 😂😂😂…

I’m still wearing DC’s for the little bit of extra width, but the last pair I got didn’t seem quite as wide as the previous ones. With the neuroma in my feet it’s just weird. Sometimes I go to take my shoes off only to find that I don’t have any on, and the opposite at times as well. The combination of pain and numbness has just become something that’s normal for me at this point. I’ve started wearing my socks to bed to avoid having unusual stimulation from the covers waking me in the middle of the night. I’m definitely one that will get every inch of walking out of a pair of shoes that I can, much like my thirty year old tee shirts and jeans. I’m just not the “type” to exercise any more. Used to lift weights, play golf, softball / baseball, bowl… Better do some type of exercise inger whether it be walking, lifting weights, anything. It will lengthen your life, lower your blood sugar, help your mental health, etc, etc, etc, so many benefits. Don't just like the post, rizzuto . Get your butt in the gym!
I'm gonna keep hounding you on this one, my friend. It's life changing!
I tell my brother too. He never has time working the ER shifts but I tell him all the time to find just a few hours a week for physical activity.

I do tend to find physical activities outdoors in the summertime here at the house, and even in winter with Ruthie no longer keeping house, I find sweeping and mopping and cleaning the bathrooms to keep me bending and busy. Yeah. I know. Not the same. We had a family doctor when I was younger that we marveled at. He ran, he biked, he was always fit and tan. But when he hit 80, he seemed to lose it all at once. He shuffled so slowly across the street that my brother once stopped his car and got out to help him across. I’ve known other sedentary folks that just kept going and going and going. Right now I can say I’m happy to be seeing warmer weather so I can get outdoors more, which always helps. What I should do is forget about baseball so I can focus on being out there more! 🤓…

I always like to quote the wisdom of Steven Wright, who says “Ambition pays off in the future. Laziness pays off right now.”…

I hope it's nothing serious with your foot. One suggestion I would make is to always check your shoes and make sure they're not worn out. Nothing will cause sore feet quicker than running/walking in worn out sneakers. Absolutely agree. Same with tennis and any sport. Bad support or the wrong support can cause shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and flattening of the arches, which can feel like a stress fracture. My leg is starting to hurt just reading this post.

I was at lunch today when I was reading about the shoe purchasing option posts, and it struck me I should also buy some walking shoes. Now, I'm looking and will check out Brooks on CHI and Pipps's endorsement. About a year ago, I almost bought some Hokas, but I cannot recall why I never completed the transaction. Like Inger, I do need a wider shoe than what is normally available.

As soon as my sore foot heals, I'm going to try those Brooks Adrenalines that Chi wears and get my butt out there! But slowly this time so I don't reinjure myself.

COMFORTABLE!! Wide feet especially Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2024 Size: 8.5 X-WideColor: Black/Black/EbonyVerified Purchase I have wide feet and it’s hard to find good shoes that fit nice. I’m also military and we have to exercise 3 times a week, and I have plantar fasciitis (had to google that spelling, lol). I have custom soles, but they’re old. Thought I’d give these a try and maaaaan you never go wrong with this brand!! Shows fit & feel great!!! I have a pair of ghosts but they’re years old. Still work great, but I needed an upgrade. These shoes are great for everyday wear, as well as exercise. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to the other brands. Brooks knows its customers and they build their shoes for comfort, quality, and activity 🤙🤙

That's surprises me because I don't have wide feet. Adrenalines are good for people that have an inner pronation with their feet while they are running, like I do.

I used to bowl on a league that a guy I knew from the store I worked in bowled on. He was short of stature but likely in the 275 pound range. I was stunned when I saw him grab his size 6 shoes! I wear a 9.5 and think that’s small…
