Thoughts: At the very least, our DH problem is fixed. Great, another guy who hits the ball hard. Haven't we learned from Noetsi that bunting and softly steering the ball away from defenders is the way to go. Pick-up basketball just got even tougher on AL East teams. Andujar at third and Torres at second...okay. But, what about Torreyes? As long as Ellsbury is gone, it can forever be argued that the Yankees won this trade. Now how much is a dog and a beer at the Stadium? Unlike Cano, Stanton doesn't mind batting second. What is your batting order for Stanton, Sanchez, Bird, Torres, Didi, Andujar, Frazier, Gardner and Judge? 1. Brett Gardner, LF 2. Aaron Judge, RF/DH 3. Greg Bird, 1B 4. Giancarlo Stanton, RF/DH 5. Gary Sanchez, C 6. Didi Gregorius, SS 7. Cashman's Guy, CF 8. Gleyber Torres , 2B 9. Chase Headley, 3B Trade Frazier for a starting pitcher.

Big hat tip to Jeter, who bought another team just to help out the Yankees! Yeah Jeets!

Big winner is JD Martinez. RS may end up giving paying him more than 26/per.

Castro, Guzman and Devers for Stanton and $30m.
Guzman is at worst likely a solid reliever and his upside is Severino. So that’s not nothing. Who knows if Devers makes it or not.
Meanwhile they have the cash to help move Ellsbatross and all of the IFA money they didn’t spend on Ohtani available.
This is an unbelievable deal for Cashman.

I'm really surprised given everything Hal said about staying under the payroll threshold. I wouldn't have done it but there's no question it improves the team considerably for this season. In the short term it will be great. Putting Stanton on this team is going to increase revenue substantially. His contract is already paid for in a sense. But this lineup now, my God... Get us some pitching, we have the prospects.

I would rather keep the young guy Frazier here and he plays LF. I like Gardner but in keeping with the youth movement, maybe trade Gardy later on in the year? We have some great prospects to trade though, just hope we hold onto the pitchers we have. Dynasty is just about here.

We keep all our top prospects and can still get under the luxury tax cap. This is a clear win for the Yankees!

The Yankees have a good pitching staff. We need to add another solid starter or two, but Severino-Tanaka-Gray is a damn good nucleus, and you have Montgomery as well and Sheffield coming up. The state of the Yankees pitching staff from starters to bullpen is very strong right now.

Wow this came together quickly! I still prefer Harper but hard to complain about this.

Wow this came together quickly! I still prefer Harper but hard to complain about this. Harper might cost 400 million for 10 years. We're getting Stanton for cheap compared to that! You weeks on the cheap!
