What's done is done, so onward we shall march. I will root for Stanton, most of all for him to stay in the line up on a regular basis...So, I like that he's most likely going to DH almost all of the time. Perhaps on the days that Sanchez catches he will help to rest one of Gardner, Hicks, or Judge by playing in...I dunno...RF? some LF too? I'd rather use Judge in LF on some days and keep Stanton in the smaller side of the ball park (at home)...Of course, with this line up, when Sanchez rests, perhaps he can actually take the day off and REALLY rest...

“Ok, you were right Tequila and I was wrong…we traded for Stanton. Go ahead and put me on a Seed Only Diet…for I clearly lost our bet/debate in regards to Stanton.”
HOWEVER: --I hate to lose Castro…if not injured in 2017, probably would have been a 90 RBI plus .300 hitter. --And I worry about Stanton becoming an A-Rod/Ellsbury type player due to injuries (let us form a circle, hold hands and pray that does not happen…). --If Stanton goes the A-Rod/Ellsbury route, than we will regret trading Castro and Guzman (I think this Guzman Kid has high potential).
NOW FOR OUR NEXT MOVES: --WE MUST trade Gardner now or midseason. --WE MUST TRADE NOW: Ellsbury & Headley (there are teams that could use their talents (???) and, we could eat a large % of Ellsbury’s salary = Get rid of the Retreads Prone to Injuries).
OUR POTENTIAL LINE-UP (Not Batting Order): 1B Bird 2B Torres SS DiDi 3B Andujar RF Judge/Stanton CF Cash’s Guy (Hicks) LF Fraizer (Do not trade this guy) DH Stanton/Judge/Sanchez (a rotating process) C Sanchez (back-up Romine or a Prospect)
CRITICAL: Start training/coaching either Stanton/Judge to play 1B ASAP for back-up to Bird (if no 1B free agent signed).
Without any doubt keep Torreys as backup for 3B, SS & 2B…he did a great job of this in 2016 and he has a great Attitude plus he is a Hustler.
In addition, add Wade as additional infield back-up.
Put Sanchez thru training AGAIN, on how to block balls. He got this training constantly in the minors but told The Binder that he was tired of the training sessions this last year and The Binder allowed him to stop and look what happen.
OPTIONS: --Trade Hicks, Gardner & Ellsbury and: Move Frazier to Center and Judge to left while Stanton goes to RF. And bring up Floria as backup. --Than Sign a free agent 1B, like Hosmer; have him and Bird split 1B & DH duties or trade for Abreu 1B White Sox (no key Prospects) and have Abreu/Bird split 1B/DH duties. ---Or Sign FA Nunez and have him become back-up 1B and to split DH duties with Bird (this option just got Tequila excited)
BENCH/BACKUP: (Four) -Torreys (infield backup) -Backup catcher = Romine or ??? -Cash’s Guy (Hicks) as back-up for the outfield, if we keep Gardner until Mid-Season (or if Hicks & Gardner are traded; an outfield Prospect like Floria). -Wade (additional infield backup)
STARTING PITCHING (Five): --Tanka --Severino --Gray --Montgomery --Pineda (if back from injury)??? --CC (but only on a 1-year contact)??? --Chance Adams or Sheffield (rotate them???); if CC is not signed and Pin is still injured
BULLPEN (Six): --Chapman --Bet --Robertson --Warren --Green --Kahnle
Regardless of what the near future moves are for the Yankees; my friends tell me that the Brothers are expecting in 2018 to not only go to the WS BUT win It.
Boone, hope you can handle immense pressure, for it not you might wish you were Daniel Boone.

I'm reading good and bad things about his defense, and haven't watched him. Either way, DH makes a lot of sense since he's only averaged about 115 games per season. Let's keep him healthy. A big bat is worthless when it belongs to a nicked up player...

I'm really surprised given everything Hal said about staying under the payroll threshold. I wouldn't have done it but there's no question it improves the team considerably for this season. In the short term it will be great. Putting Stanton on this team is going to increase revenue substantially. His contract is already paid for in a sense. But this lineup now, my God... Get us some pitching, we have the prospects. Stanton is also only a $13.5m net payroll hit this season. $25m AAV - $3m payroll credit from Marlins - $8.5m Castro AAV = 13.5m.

Home runs will be flying for this team next season.
Gardner, Hicks combine for 20+ Judge, Stanton maybe 90 Bird and Sanchez 70 Didi 20
Well, there's 200 and we still have two more infield positions to account for and the entire bench. Not to mention that Judge and Stanton combined for 111 in 2017, so I may be short-selling them...and I think Bird may have as many HR as Judge or Stanton this year...Not sure how to define the HR by the DH, because they'll be spread around a bit...Dizzying potential...

I wouldn't trade Gardner when he's on he defintely sparks the team. Ellsbury though they should try to unload if they can. You gotta have some veterans on the team for balance. So I dunno what dome is going on about basically trading every veteran we have.

He's the kind of player a WS contender needs.

ESPN's RD (overall defensive ability) ranks Andrelton Simmons number 1 in MLB with a score of 32. Brett Gardner is tied for 6th with a score of 20. Giancarlo Stanton is tied for 23rd with a score of 10, and Aaron Judge is just behind with a score of 9. Lots of other measures defensively are available on the website as well. None that I am aware of indicates a large disparity between Judge and Stanton defensively. I've watched Judge enough to satisfy myself that he is an above-average, well-rounded defender in right field. Admittedly, I haven't observed Stanton nearly as often and on such a regular basis as Judge; however, I also have not encountered defensive metrics that expose Stanton as being "not in the same ballpark" in right field.
By the way, Cashman's Guy was tied at 12th with a score of 15. At any rate, the Yankees with Gardner, Hicks, Judge and Stanton (and Clint Frazier) have more than a "serviceable" defender at every outfield position.
