Just unreal the pitcher Cole has become. Always projected out this way I suppose. Seems like we give him two easyish outs every inning before being able to get anything started and no big hits. Yea it's frustrating they had so many base runners vs him in the majority of innings and career high in walks.

I saw an interview with Cole yesterday and he's a tough guy to dislike. He came across as very humble, low-key and thrilled about pitching at Yankee Stadium. Love to see him in the interlocking NY. He grew up as a Yankees fan and that was the story before his dad backed out on DO after they drafted him. Yep. Don't know if you saw early in the game they had a great picture of him as a kid at Yankee Stadium holding a sign about being a Yankee fan forever. Of course that and $300 million might get him to sign.

I still think the Yankees can win this series dunno why you think it's over. I never said its over. I said we would have a better chance if Cashman was willing to get an elite starter. He tries to do things on the cheap and that does not work usually with pitchers.
We can still win. We have to find a way to beat Cole or Verlander which can happen.
This is on the offense. The pitching had the game tied when verlander exited and the offense had 4 innings to score they didn't. Tonight isn't over but this game was 2-0 for 5 innings and they didn't score.

Anyone believe Cole isn’t worth the money this offseason? It depends. Probably 7-8 years at $250-275m. I’d have to think about how much more value he brings as compared to merely above average options. I don't think you can win a WS without an elite pitcher. And they have serious costs and/or risks.

Ours would never go that long.

The one time it makes sense to dive into first and Edwin doesn't do it.
