Lance Lynn would be a nice addition. I see the Yanks are interested. Also interested in Gausman, but I don't know if he would help much.

I just don't see starting pitchers out there that could help us that much or would be worth what we would have to give up for them. We need hitters, particularly those with the ability to hit with runners in scoring position and can advance runners. I really believe that we will have some of the guys that are not hitting a lick right now break out of their slumps. If not we won't win it all this year. I guess hope isn't much of a strategy though.

Jeter and The Fish breaking the bank for Marte. Jeter wants to be in the playoffs. With the expanded playoffs, teams should take a chance. I’d love to see a Cinderella team make some noise in the tournament.

I didn't want the Yanks to go after Ray, he walks too many hitters. The Buffalo Blue Jays were going to land a starting pitcher and I'm glad they got Ray instead of someone better.

I wish he had come here as we desperately need pitching but the Yankees are going to forego another year. Our starters have been great recently and overall 5th in the AL in ERA. We have Cole, Tanaka, Montgomery, even Happ had a great start last time, Garcia, and as backup Loaisiga, King, maybe Schmidt, and Paxton when he comes off the IL. No need to mortgage the future for another starting pitcher. Tanaka can not pitch more than 70 pitches. We have Cole and maybe Montgomery as reliable pitchers. You don't win a WS with a pitching staff that thin and untried.
At a certain point you need to decide you are going to win this year. Or you can wait another decade for a chance.

Tanaka has a 3.48 ERA and has always been big in the post season. Let's not cut him short.

The Reds get Archie Bradley. I have to admit, I wouldn't have if the Yanks landed Marte & Bradley. Who knows what the price would have been?

Maybe we can get a hardship deferral for Germain.
I know we are not going to make a major trade. We never do in the regular season anymore. It is too costly.

Tanaka was hit in the head from a batted ball off Stanton’s bat, which caused him to miss the already abbreviated spring training. He was on a pitch count until he caught up with the rest of the staff and built his arm strength and stamina. He’s had one bad outing. Tanaka has been incredible in the playoffs. He’s not hurt. Where are you getting your information, Russ?
