Talk about a couple of lame at bats to end the inning. Man this is putrid baseball. Three hits in six innings innings, and there’s nothing comparable to Cole throwing for the Rays. I know it can't be so, but at times I feel like we are flashing back to the days of Mike Blowers and Oscar Azocar. |

Rizz, your role player sounds like me when I played high school basketball. Except that I was well aware of my limitations. Role players are a necessity or there’s little chance for continuity to play team basketball. Ideally, you want three scorers on the court at all times, but that takes a talented roster; otherwise, precision is required in coaching, putting individuals in situations to take advantage of what they do well, while building skills over the course of the season. Once one of the kids was trying to convince the coach to allow him to be a shooter. After the kid headed to the showers, the coach turned to me privately and said, “That kid couldn’t score in a whorehouse with a fist full of fifties.” |

It’s 55 degrees, sunny. Light breeze. Tee shirt weather. My plan from the outset was to go outside after the game. Since we only need a couple runs to pull this out, I’m to invested in this game to give it up. How stupid could I possibly be?...
