Trevor Hauver at A Tampa has homered in all 5 games he’s played, including two on opening day. He’s playing second base, though he was an outfielder in college.

There is no way Florial can do worse from the left side than Hicks. At this juncture, Florial is also a better defensive outfielder with a better arm. |

If Hicks needs surgery, we might need him soon... That area of the wrist is quite delicate. Could take a while to heal... There is no way Florial can do worse from the left side than Hicks. At this juncture, Florial is also a better defensive outfielder with a better arm. Hicks is basically a fourth outfielder that has been blessed to be in an organization that sees him as something more. I think he’s likely to find himself in that actual role soon. He has gone from being an acceptable centerfielder to chattel within the past couple of seasons. The Yankees probably were hoping for another year or so before he transitioned to a lesser role. I don’t believe we’re likely to see that. Though it hasn’t been exposed a lot to this point, Hicks arm is no longer elite for the position. It appears in fact, to be a bit of a noodle... |

Florial continues to strike out at a high rate, but that’s nothing to keep a guy out of MLB any more. His wrist injuries knocked him clean off of some prospect lists and way down on others. Ironically, Hicks wrist injury may just force the Yankees hand to bring the kid up early. As far as Dominguez goes, we’ve seen for the past half-dozen or so years the value of having an over-qualified left fielder in Yankee Stadium, so it doesn’t much matter which of the two prospects might win either position. If Judge can get a long term agreement in NY, what an outfield trip we may wind up with! ... |
