I actually thought Luke was going to get himself out chasing, but Holland threw him a cookie. More closer failure…

I would have trusted Chapman not to walk the newbie. Just throw strikes. If your All Star closer can't do that, its on him. Chapman just didn't execute. After watching Chapman for the last two weeks struggle with his arm slot and the strike zone? No way. Your all star closer doesn’t always pitch like an all star for 162 game season. You have to pay attention to your players. That’s called coaching. The opposite is wishful thinking, or Noetsi’s stratomatic managing where you’re dealing with cards, not human beings. Fair enough. But if you can't trust Chapman not to walk Rivero how do you trust him to pitch to the dangerous Santana? Pick your poison.

I like how Voit spits in the middle of the interview.

How, whatever Luke did during his rehab, the Yanks should bottle it up and use it with all their injured players.

The Royals pen will be more gassed than the Yankees pen tomorrow.

It’s a win, but it feels bad… Feel the same way. But, may e we can win enough ugly until the team starts clicking, if it ever does. Hitting can be contageous.

He's just missed having 3 HR's in these past two games.

It’s not that you “can’t trust Chapman not to walk Rivero.” And, Santana is a .245 hitter, and was 1 for 12 against Chapman in his career. It wasn’t Ted Williams or Mike Trout they walked. More importantly, you have to pay attention to your players and the context of the situation. There were 16 base on balls in this game. Chapman has not had great command recently. Is Chapman more apt to get in trouble if he falls behind with the bases loaded or with a base open? Cone knew it. So did I.

Well, he couldn’t figuratively hit a home run. And, that home run was a sinker that didn’t sink from Zach Britton, who is still trying to work himself back to where he was before the injury.

Red Sox Lost so Yankees are 4 behind them in loss 3 behind Rays in loss. Somehow the gap has shrunk, even if ever so slightly…
