Travis Shaw, 2017-18, combined 63 HR. Three seasons since, 607 AB , .194 with 22 HR. He’s only 31, and he disappeared to become bench power against righties only. The equivalent of a flea-flicker play on football. As reliable as a rain dance, but sometimes you just feel like maybe he’ll come through…

The Yanks showed a lot tonight, putting up a three spot in the first inning and then hitting balls hard all night long. Hopefully they keep this going tomorrow afternoon.

Good night, Irene. This didn’t go 15 innings after all. BTW, isn’t the longest game of this year only 14 innings with the goofy rules?… Another piece of baseball history now unreachable. The longest game ever will likely remain so forever unless they repeal this one…
