It would not surprise me, especially after Hal’s putting the onus squarely on the players for underperforming during the losing streak. Things like not hustling to first base, leading the league in outs on the bases for essentially a station to station club, and the mental mistakes on routine plays - and this wasn’t the first year of these problems - fall on the coaching staff to correct. What? Hal put his what on the players? Oh. Onus. Never mind. I get it now… 🤓 I looked it up. It’s okay… |

Yea I think Boone is probably back because he's too tied to the organization and what the organization wants. I do think Thames and others are probably shown the door though. My guess is they defend it with that he had 2 100 + win seasons, made the playoffs 4 times, and racked up a record of a record of 328-218. The problem is that these last two seasons though the same thing happened they were positioned really well with a couple weeks to go, but through bad management messed up their seeding and it effected their chances. Something really has to change there enough with this whole lets rest people and give away games stuff.

I think Boone stays, but Nevin, Thames and others go. Pitching coach Blake stays.
Perhaps the analytics department should go. Other teams appeared much more prepared then the Yanks were. Every other team in the east seemed to have a couple guys the Yanks pitchers couldn't get out.
