3rd star of the game: Volpe/Verdugo, who both reached 3 times, both scored 2 runs, and both contributed excellent defense to the win.
2nd star: Soto, for the big 3 run HR that broke the game open.
1st star: The Sweet Poteet, awwwwreet? Six surprising excellent innings of 1-run ball, giving the pen some much needed help. Yanks will have Nardi and Gonzalez rested for tomorrow, and should have Holmes for an inning if they need him.

What a job by Poteet. This DH could have been a disaster for the bullpen but everything will be OK with Poteet going 6.

solid game for volpe, rizzo & verdugo. another ribby for ocab as he continues have solid ABs. team keeps rolling. a sweep and another series win as we're now 12-3.

Yanks go for the series sweep tomorrow at 1:40 on YES.
The Nasty One™, 1-1 with a 3.50 ERA in 3 starts (and who pitched 8 terrific innings against the Marlins on Tuesday) for the Yanks.
He'll be opposed by the good Logan Allen. He's making his 4th start, and is 2-0 on the season with an ERA of 4.60 over 15 2/3 innings in his first 3 starts.
Enjoy the afterglow of a big sweep day, and I'll see you guys tomorrow afternoon.
