I am creating this early because its a tradition to do a special game thread on 9/11 in memory of Dennis Gomes, a very special poster under the username of Trane who died in the 9/11 attack.
This link provides basic information on him from some of his fellow posters (John Fontana was JoeSeadog I think who old time posters will remember as a moderator of our then board).

Rest in peace Trane, probably talking about the Yankees with Mr. G 
Before I forget, this is the actual game thread not just a memorial.

Remember this is the game thread for Tuesday, not Monday.
Unless there is no game for Tuesday, could someone do another thread for the game on the 10th? I caused confusion by doing my thread very early. |

Thanks inger and chiyankee. It's scary that I have been doing this thread for 17 years....
I don't cry often. I cried a lot when his wife posted that he died on the 9/11 thread on the political event board (different from the Yankee board on the old fanhome).
That is when 9/11 really hit home to me. I remember that for once posters were nice to each other (we generally are here, but on that political board they were very rarely).

Anthony is one of the truly nice cats around here. I don’t think he’s ever had a single word of dispute with anyone. A model forum poster who is legendary for his hard work on the game thread records... |

Looked this up. As I thought it is Hear! hear!... the words are homophones. Not that there’s anything wrong with that...
