All I'm saying is this whole resting guys <25 thing was a complaint we all had with Girardi and it hasn't changed with Boone.
Hate to really critique a manager that is going to get between a 98-100 win season when the yankees haven't won 100 games since 2009 or 95 since 2012, especially with injuries .
Yankees are now 19-9 at target field (21-9 if you count the 2010 ALDS)

my wife has commented a few times that Boone avoids eye contact in his pressers....she thinks he looks furtive... I think 80 is a high grade for his first year....I am more about 70...obviously he is going to be the manager again next year....and, I agree the expectation will be higher next year... To be clear, the question you asked was what did we think Cashman thought of the job Boone did. I don’t personally give him an 80. I’m going to go easy on him and remember the injuries while also realizing that he’s hamstring by company policy with these rest days, etc. I think some of the issues where a hot bat would set the next day were pre-determined rest days that just happened to coincide with a hot day at the plate occurring the day before the planned rest. I have no clue on some of the line-up shenanigans or pitching change choices... I give him a 65, which is barely passing, write him up and tell him what I expect to change next season. I hate to let a nice guy go...but you’ve got to show me more the first couple months of next season to secure your job... That being said, Brian isn’t saying that, and I just put my job on the line by saying that. Oh 💩... Here comes Hal. I gave to go now... what’s that pink piece of paper he’s carrying. Did he forget to pay the electric bill??? OK....you and Anthony have both made the point that a "robot" is what the Yankees brass wants.....I have to internalize that for awhile....

Utah, now that you mention it, there is a strange sort of way that he always poses in those post game interviews. He does tend to look downward. And I mentioned the other day that he always seems to pull his upper lip in when answering the questions about the game in a stiff and unnatural way that seems to indicate some discomfort.
Perhaps detective Dee is onto something. If he starts crossing his arms he’s shutting us out. I’m starting to think it was Aaron Boone, in the Study, with the wrench. After all, why was there a wrench in the study to begin with?
I’ll tell you something else too. Professor Plum may not be getting his. hands dirty, but have you noticed that he’s always in the next room when this stuff is going on? And that prim Miss Scarlett, she never shows any emotion when these things happen. Has anyone seen that piece of rope I had in the closet? Mr. Green? Mr. Green. Where did you go? Mr. Green?
What were we talking about again???

I worked late. Glad I missed this game. The comments were fascinating.

I think all corporations want robots managing. There is a hauty belief that they’re intellect is greater than that of the ants beneath them...Perhaps I’m jaded by my recent experience that allowed me the opportunity to grasp control of my own destiny. Perhaps this is because I’ve also had others share tales of corporate abuse and lunacy. I’m not going to assume that baseball is different simply because it’s a sport...

They were down 3-1 I didnt realize that translated to 30-1. Christmas List: Aaron Boone 1. Calculator 2. Abacus 3. Flash Cards 4. Count Chocula (can you actually count with this)? 5. Two lumps of coal (tell him it’s 7 lumps. He won’t notice)...

The Brothers didn't hire Boone because he was a nice guy...WE do not need a 'NICE GUY COACH' = Instead we need a Manger that will WIN, even if it means thinking outside the Box = See Tampa Bay Manager; who thought Tampa Bay would be where they are this season?
"...I’m going to go easy on him and remember the injuries.." Weak argument; other teams have had more injuries, than WE have had. In fact every season, every Team must deal with injuries...how a manager deals with adversity (injuries) is One Factor of many, that determines a Good Manger vs. _____________Manger.
I would give him a D grade at this point. And I hope he isn't back for the 2019 Season.

A d grade for a possible 100 win team ?

What contending team has suffered worse injuries than we have? Judge, Sanchez, Bird,Didi, Chapman, Didi, Montgomery....that is a lot to lose for a significant portion of the season.
Well maybe not Bird.

Well maybe not Bird. well, yes...winning around 100 games is an accomplishment.....and injuries did hurt...on the other hand this was still a formidable team and might have won a few more games...maybe 5... His lineup choices, early in the season, were bizarre....we went into games where the opposing pitcher might have had to face only two or three Yankees who were hitting well...and they would pitch around the hot guys, like Andujar, to get to Bird, and get out of scoring situations...he made it too easy to be outmanaged.....there was a 3 game series with Tampa that Kevin Cash was so clearly smarter and better, that you had to wonder if he had Aarons watch and wallet as well by the end of the game...

A d grade for a possible 100 win team ? Yes. He makes ludicrous moves. The players win games, not the manager. Wouldn’t it be better if we had 110 wins? We really can’t know how many games this team would have won if Girardi had been retained, nor if the team had selected an experienced manager, so to me the number wins is irrelevant. To be clear, I would have him back next year, but only after a meeting explaining that my expectations of certain things would have to be met. Player relations are good. Press relations, good. Lineup construction below expectations In game strategy, below expectations Personell usage decisions, below expectations Strategy for rest days, bizarrely poor. Each subject deserves an essay form of explanation. Again, this is my take, and I don’t believe that Cashman will share my view of this. He’ll want to prove his choice was the right one. We all want personal verification of our skills and choices...
