I hope it's not a mirage....the longer he continues to hit, the more it looks like he is for real....Cashman and his scouts deserve a huge credit for trades like this, and Gregorious, as well as others..... Bird has had periods of productivity, and some have mentioned his nice swing....he could remain as the backup 1B, or if some other club believes they can develop the potential that he has, Bird could be a trade chip....something had to be done by the Yankees because the promise of Bird becoming a big hitter was clearly diminishing as time went on... I keep thinking that Luke Voit is having his Shane Spencer moment, but maybe there is more to it than that. I am really disappointed in the year Bird has had. That perfect Yankee Stadium swing still requires him to actually hit the ball. It still seems possible he could develop into a useful major league power hitter, and I hope that is with the Yankees, but at this point his prospects seem no better than 50-50 for me. Maybe if he ever actually stayed healthy for an entire season. I have been thinking about that, and while memories of Shane remain with us, I think there is a difference....Shane hit the big flies that we remember...but he had mostly soft outs as I recall when not hitting the home runs....Voit seems more consistent in squaring up the baseball...even the ground out his first time up tonight was hit hard....I think he is a better hitter than Shane was....and, of course that remains to be seen over the longer term...

Voit is also naturally patient at the plate, as well. He’s going to look for a pitch he can handle...

Come on. Don't lose to our punching bag, the Twins! It's usually corrected by the later innings.

Come on. Don't lose to our punching bag, the Twins! Tonight, with Cave and Austin in the lineup they’ve got Yankee blood in their veins... Loaisiga doing his best Sonny Gray imitation now... 👺

Is Boone even trying to win this game, it was only 3-1 when Gray left.

This inning is getting out of control.
I guess today was rest day for some people.

Not trying to sound greedy here but between the twins and jays they really need to win 5 of 6 considering 6 of the last 13 are against the Red Sox.
