I don't miss him...Ohtani I mean. I do miss Eppler, but when you leave people to stagnate in a position, you have to figure they may move on...calculated risk, we'll call it...So, let's go get someone else to fill out the rotation...(guess the Angels aren't dealing Trout now, right)???

Wow maybe crisis averted for the Yanks But, don't worry about him, folks! If he can't pitch he still has that bat...what's he call it? Wonderboy???

This is why I find the Angels kind of an odd choice for him unless he was really heart set on playing outfield. The Angels have 4 more years of Albert Pujols who is clearly just a DH now (thats the only way they are going to keep him healthy). So unless they plan to substantially slash Pujols playing time (which is possible given his decline in recent years though they might want to try to see him chase 700) then Otani isnt really going to have a ton of opportunities to hit unless hes also playing defense. Maybe I am missing something.

Wonderboy??? 3 million dollar plus investment will not hamper the organization but this explains his rush to come to the US. Hope it doesn’t fall apart for this kid.IMO,he will never meet the expectations that the media has created.

It's really a 22+ million dollar investment when you consider the posting fee, but that won't break the Angels. Times have changed when it comes to arm injuries for pitchers, the Yankees did just draft a guy in the first round who is coming off TJ surgery.

Yea and eovaldi last year and Pineda today both got contracts while they are on the shelf with tjs so teams are willing to do the risk reward thing

Of course in the interest of integrity one would hope that the player would reveal the injury before being signed. I wonder if the Angels will have an out now if they don't want him, and who else might take him. This is a demonstration of poor character on the part of the player, his agent and especially his former team for taking the $20M...
Since this is a ligament and not bone chips, I guess I can't say "Let the chips fall where they may", but you know what I mean, right???
