I was just thinking, the Yankees have two very good defensive SS's on their current roster in Wade and Velazquez yet Boone started a third baseman at short and a 2nd base man at third. It just seems odd. Booneworld. I simply do not understand a lot of his decisions. Most managers don't affect game outcomes all that much. Old timers have said Leo Durocher was a difference maker on the positive side when he had a competitive team. I am pretty confident in saying Boone has cost 3-5 games this season (which is huge) just by oddball decisions.

He has some odd ideas regarding line up construction, who to play under variable circumstances. His early season resting of players at times seemed bizarre, especially when that player was playing exceptionally well. He’s certainly not a fan of players playing in every game. I imagine that if we make the playoffs, his return will be rubber stamped and he’ll be lauded for leading the team through injuries, Covid, and any number of bogeymen…

Time to tell Voit he is sitting once again. Has done nothing the last week of games. 2 hits and 8 strike outs.

He then can DH but this is some magic Boone lineup.

What we see, and as best I can tell it almost a consensus among the board, is that Boone is a poor to very poor manager. Surely Cashman and the Steins can see that. If they don't, then a pox on them, and they will get another year of weird managing decisions.

Wade hitting well: bench him
Florial hitting and making thing happen: send him back to AAA
Allen hitting and stealing bases: replace him with Jonathan Davis
Gil hasn’t given up a run: back to the minors.
Voit crushing the ball: sit him for three days.
This team isn’t going anywhere with this mismanagement.

We need to hire the Tampa GM.
And realize hitting matters.
