So, Boone’s in-game decisions were unpopular with the front office? That seems to contradict the belief that Boone was a puppet and was following a script. Certainly does. It seems to me that if the front office dislikes his decision making that they would want to hold him accountable for them and move on a to a new manager. This organization moves in many mysterious ways. Maybe there is a bed under the desk of a guy named Kostanza (or is it Costanza? I forget)…

FROM ONE OF OUR POSTERS A WHILE AGO:
"Unfortunately, I don't think either will be gone. I've been a Cashman supporter over the years, but I think it's time for a change. The Yanks seem to think that a baseball bashing team is the way to go, but it is until you don't hit.
This team played a lot better when Greg Allen and Valezquez were in the lineup because they played with enthusiasm and speed. When Tyler Wade played on a semi-regular basis he got hot, but then he got benched.
Now, we got three infielders playing out of position and the defense hasn't gotten any better. I hope the Yanks get hot and prove me wrong, but I think it's time for an overhaul. Just don't think it'll happen." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DO ME'S THOUGHTS
Think about this: The Yanks REACTED (Not proactive)) to getting Lefties to Bat mid-season; so they traded for Gallo & Rizzo.
THEY WERE IN THE PANIC MODE--No great decisions are ever made when one is in the Panic mode = for the Panic/Fear pushes out the Common Sense, Logic, Reason, etc. etc. etc.
YET, Allen Bats L & Valezquez is a SH and Wade Bats L and if they needed a Left Hitting Outfield guess what??? They had Florial!!!
Who KNOWS what would have happen by giving more playing time to Allen, Valezquez, Wade, Florial etc.
Maybe just maybe their Attitudes (Trying to prove themselves) combined with their Excitement, their Speed, Hits, etc. etc. etc. just might have got us past the WC game and maybe to...
Instead we loss Prospects for Rizzo & Gallo--Please do not mention the Prospects we gave up these two = It will just make me sick.
So Gallo, for 2021 STRUCK OUT 42.% of the time--SHIT!!! Unless I got the numbers wrong.
GALLO ARTICLE:
www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/pete-roses-comment-on-yankees-hitter-is-going-viral/ar-AAPuHwJ?li=BBnbfcL Pete Rose’s Comment On Yankees Hitter Is Going Viral Former MLB star Pete Rose wasn’t a big fan of the New York Yankees lineup this season – one player in particular. Rose, speaking to USA TODAY, went off on Yankees power hitter Joey Gallo following his performance this season. Gallo, 27, hit .199 on the season. He struck out 213 times in 153 games. Gallo went 0 for 4 with a strikeout in the Yankees’ loss to the Red Sox in the American League Wild Card Game. Rose ripped the Yankees for their lineup. “That was the worst f–king lineup they could have put on the field,” Rose reportedly said to USA Today. “Their 6, 7, 8, 9 hitters were all out-men. They had to have (Aaron) Judge and (Giancarlo) Stanton do something. If they didn’t, all of the pressure was on Joey Gallo. You saw how that worked out. “How does someone who didn’t play every day strike out 213 times? Ray Charles wouldn’t strike out that much. I just can’t imagine striking out 213 times without killing myself.” Rose, one of the greatest hitters in MLB history, finished his career with 4,256 career hits. Gallo, traded to New York from Texas, is under contract for one more season before hitting free agency. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHY BOONE & CASH both need to go ASAP...
Tequila asked not to Post her Pic ...for she is really upset about this (see above).

Rose, he knows He’s such a Credit to the game But the Yankees Grab the headlines Every time
<Zanzibar; Billy Joel>
Pete Rose is so irrelevant and would be better off critiquing a player from another era that had the worst stolen base percentage all time for a player with over 200 stolen bases. A player who made the most outs on the bases in history with his false “hustle” as he over-rated his own mediocre speed.
That same player showed poor management of team personnel when as a player-manager he continued to see himself as the better option to be in the lineup long after his talent and skills faded. Then, he showed poor judgment by gambling on the sport, despite knowing it was against the rules.
That player could have been a Hall of Famer if hadn’t made his own mistakes. He never had anything to do with the Yankees, and I have no desire to know what he thinks about anything, ever.
Oh. I didn’t name the player. That’s all right. He’s so irrelevant that he doesn’t deserve a name. Human garbage…

Is Boone really throwing his long time friend, Nevin under the bus to save his own job? Sorta sounds that way.

Always for Pete “The Peckerhead” Rose… I'm no Pete Rose fan, but he's not wrong about Gallo and strike outs. No, he’s not wrong. And, now that gambling commercials follow every break in game action…well, the word hypocrisy comes to mind. I was never a Pete Pose fan, but his hit record likely will never be broken, and he played hard every game, every at bat. I still do not understand the “false hustle” as a condemnation or even a concept. Either you hustle or not. I suppose Gleyber was “false jogging” and instead really busting his butt down the line? Nonsensical.

That does not mean Rose commands any adoration or changes the manner in which he played baseball. Mantle nicknamed him Charlie Hustle for a reason, like him or not.

Oh well. You can have you’re Pete Rose, and I can have mine. The blue marble will keep on spinning… Pretty sure there’s only one. I agree with CHI, Rose wasn’t wrong. That does not mean Rose commands any adoration or changes the manner in which he played baseball. Mantle nicknamed him Charlie Hustle for a reason, like him or not. I think there’s more than one. There are numerous visions of who he was and is, as we’ve demonstrated here. That’s how it is with controversial players. They become controversial for various reasons. Some because of style of play. Some because of their opinions and outspokenness. So it’s how each person sees them that winds up defining them. I loved Reggie, Mohammed Ali, Rickey Henderson. Rose rubbed me the wrong way. I read that he got his Charley Hustle nickname from running to first base on walks, running to get his bat from the bat rack, his break neck speed running on and off the field. The veterans were laughing at his over-exhuberence. I saw diving for balls that were out of reach or could have been fielded without diving for them, diving into bases that he could have gone into standing as more false hustle. Not to mention running into outs on the bases… Nothing to do with hustle but when he started spiking the ball on Philly’s rubber infield that got my goat, too…

Pete Rose: great hitter; asshole; gambler; should never get into the Hall; right about Gallo.

Pete Rose: great hitter; asshole; gambler; should never get into the Hall; right about Gallo. All so true. Big the point is that I don’t care at all what he thinks… I have my own opinion of Gallo, and if you build around home with players unlike him (easy to do, he’s one of a kind), he’s less important to the offense. Then you can bat him 7th or 8th and just flip out with glee when he hits a home run… or walks to help flip the line up over…
